Arche-Technology: On Culinary Cosmology, Morphogenesis and Design

Arche-Technology explores new forms of design and technology based on Chinese culinary cosmology. Its central premise: the cosmos is culinary in nature, and every process by which form comes into being can be described in culinary terms. Ancient Chinese texts do just this, likening the cosmos to a soup, a wildfowl pâté, or an edible jade crème. The result is a kind of culinary alchemy, criss-crossing between mind & matter. Arche-Technology applies the principles of culinary morphogenesis, as set out in classical Chinese philosophy, to contemporary design and technology — in essence, a new method for cooking forms.
